The First Bancorp (formerly First National Lincoln Corporation), is a $2.9 billion bank holding company based in Damariscotta, Maine. The company’s subsidiary, First National Bank (formerly The First, N.A.), was established in 1864 and now has 18 branches located along Maine’s coast from Wiscasset to Calais and two branches in the greater Bangor area. With a strong coastal presence, the Bank is well positioned to take advantage of the mix of both new and traditional industries and the growth generally seen in Maine’s coastal counties. The Bank is also located in the heart of downtown Bangor, a city currently seeing a renaissance. Recently the Bank opened a branch in Brewer, a growing suburb of Bangor.

About First National Bank: Over the last 10 years, the Bank’s total assets have grown over $1.0 Billion.  This growth was achieved through a focused strategy of organic growth from the existing branch offices of First National Bank as well as opening and acquiring new branches.

  • During the fourth quarter of 2012, the Bank completed the purchase of the former Bank of America branch at 63 Union Street, Rockland, Maine, thus expanding our strong Knox County presence.
  • At the same time, the Bank purchased the former Camden National building at 145 Exchange Street in Bangor, Maine, to establish an inland presence in this growing city.
  • In the fourth quarter of 2020, the Bank completed the purchase of the former Damariscotta Bank and Trust branch located on Belmont Avenue in Belfast. This branch, our first in Waldo County fills the “gap” between Knox and Hancock counties.
  • In the fourth quarter of 2021, the Bank finalized a lease of a location on Parkway South in Brewer, expanding it's inland presence in the greater Bangor area.
